Helping Families Raise Confident, Resilient Kids with Differences

When a child has a visible or invisible difference — whether it’s alopecia, a medical condition, or another unique challenge — parents face a special kind of stress. You want your child to feel confident, navigate social situations with strength, and own their story, but it’s not always clear how to make that happen.

That’s where we come in.

Learn more about Gwen!

Gwen was diagnosed with alopecia universalis at age four and has since become an advocate, pageant competitor, and emerging model. By sharing her story on stage and in the media, she shows others that confidence and beauty are not defined by hair.

Her journey is a powerful example of turning challenges into leadership and courage. Supporting Gwen’s work also reflects the principles I teach parents and professionals: helping young people own their stories, reduce shame, and thrive.

Advocacy in Action

Franssen Strategies proudly sponsors youth-led advocacy, including Gwen’s alopecia awareness work. Beyond sponsorship, Dr. Franssen develops resources for schools and families and provides free education to many through talks, workshops, and online content. Together, we’re building confidence, connection, and community for young people facing visible and invisible differences.
